I think the greatest value of VCV rack is in trying out modules one is considering, seeing how they like the sound or the workflow. VCV rack has already made a big splash and I would not be surprised if the developer have already started getting offers to turn it into a commercial product. Those companies have enormous resources compared to the one man operation VCV rack is, and I would hate to see it gobbled up by those guys or other big name plugin manufacturers who want a piece of the modular pie. It would be better in the long run if VCV rack doesn't directly compete with Softube and Reaktor. I totally understand the need for paid modules to continue development of this project but wanted to sound a word of caution. It sounds very good as well so I can totally see myself using it in a track. I finally got around playing with this thing, and I'm truly impressed! I have to say I really don't like software modulars in terms of workflow, but as a free learning tool VCV rack is indispensable. Step by step would be great if anyone is willing to share their knowledge. Just need a hand getting the info on where to start. Its a simple set-up and uses logic and volt limits with min/max combo to, with giving the game away, do stuff. Combining the code to make an all in one module would be what I would like everyone to have at some stage. There is a few modules I use and combine their chained process. If anyone knows of any video's of development for VCV that would be a great help. Hopefully someone could answer simply editing or re-arranging of a module would be a great way to learn and get used to coding for VCV. svg in Gimp but its co-ordinates seem to be off for the co-ordinates in the xml. svg is all xml right? How would you know where the x/y co-ordinates are to edit and change the spacing/location of in/outs. Right now the code is 1 in 2 out then 2 out, where would you place the second In. cpp to reroute the 1:4 and make it 1in 2out + 1in 2out but that is where i'm stuck how would you add another input. If I wanted to add more inputs and split the outs if it is 1:4 how would you go about finding out how to do that? Right now my shopping list consists of editing the.

If I was to add stuff to simpler modules in VCV say the likes of mults. I want to get into development for audio, not sure where to start with VCV the readme is pretty vague for anyone with no experience coding.

Not talking a complex module the likes of a merger or splitter. Anybody care to do a tutorial for newbs on coding for VCV? From panel to module something simple that can cover all base work to get a module working.
